A Look Back: February 2018
Our favorite decor from February 2018
Every month we highlight a few of our favorite and most noteworthy events from the past month.
Revel Bowl
Revel Decor hosted a Super Bowl Party for industry professionals dubbed the “Revel Bowl” at one of their event spaces in Chicago. Each room in the event space was themed after a different Prince song, how clever! We worked on two rooms. The entrance, which was an extension of the Purple Rain themed room, and the Raspberry Beret room.
The Raspberry Beret room was an outdoor patio covered with a large tent. This room was also where the stage was set up for a performance by a Prince cover band after the game ended. The vision presented to us was an organic balloon installation in raspberry and pink color among large lit up clouds. Photos don’t do this justice as it looked incredible from every angle of the room! The Purple Rain room was a part of the entrance lobby that we filled with hundreds of helium filled purple foil balloons filled tied on purple ribbons.
Dr Seuss
This Dr. Seuss themed Mitzvah at the Sofitel Hotel in Chicago was super colorful and adorable! When the guests arrived, their table cards were placed under a giant balloon vortex. Thing 1 and Thing 2 came to party as well, and helped welcome the guests after they got their table card. The foyer of the event space had a large 40 foot window we transformed into a 40 foot deluxe balloon wall! Confetti squares matching the colors of the surrounding balloons added an extra bit of fun to the look. A ceiling full of colorful helium filled latex balloons created a fun dance area for the kids. In the main event space, large balloon bouquets capped the sweets table and the photo booth props table.
Holiday Party
As far as company holiday parties go, this one was one you definitely would not miss! Returning to the place you go to work every day isn’t usually what you expect for a holiday party, but, that’s where balloons come in. The main lobby of the building is open all the way to the top floor, so, we made it snow! Jumbo snowflakes hung across each floor’s balcony creating a fun snowfall effect regardless of where you look at it!
As guests walk further into the building to the main hallway, a large display of balloons greets them. Dozens of mini bubble strand garlands were strung across the ceiling to create the mesmerizing effect. Two balloon arches in shades blue and silver with mini fireworks capped the hallway. The smaller entrance towards the middle the building got two firework bead columns for decoration. It wouldn’t be a party without some games, so the company rented a bunch of classic gaming cabinets! Several mini fireworks hanging from the ceiling kept the winter wonderland theme going through the hallway.
But wait, there’s more! On an upper floor a large common area transformed into a live performance area needs some balloons too. A large organic balloon garland hung along the backdrop behind the stage. Created in shades of blue and silver with pops of purple, the garland created the perfect stage decoration that wasn’t too distracting but fit perfectly with the event’s overall theme.
