A Look Back: September 2017
Our favorite decor from September 2017
Every month we highlight a few of our favorite and most noteworthy events from the past month.
O-Party 2017 at University of Chicago
The University of Chicago celebrates the new school year with what they call: O-Week. A chance for new students to learn about the school culture and get accustomed to the campus. As part of the welcome week festivities, a party is held. Balloon decor helps mark certain areas and events. Balloon columns with food themes of pizza, donuts, tacos, and burgers are placed by the food trucks. A larger than life popcorn bucket and milkshake are placed inside the outdoor tent along with a Chicago flag inspired balloon arch. Several light up balloon columns, styled to look like street lights, were at every entrances to the tented area. Inside the Reynold’s Club, a Pac-Man arch and a Comedy/Tragedy themed arch are placed in the hallways and squiggle bouquets are added to the game room.
DePaul Bid Day
DePaul University sororities held their Bid Day celebration in late September. Several of the different sororities opted for balloon arches to match their theme or colors for the day.
High School Homecoming
Buffalo Grove High School took a trip to the Emerald City with their Wizard of Oz theme homecoming. An eight foot tall balloon tornado greeted everyone as they entered the school for the evening’s festivities. As they continued on to their gym, they walked under a rainbow balloon arch and saw the gym was split into two different cities with the decor: Munchkin Land and the Emerald City. Munchkin Land was bright and flowery while the Emerald City featured emerald green balloon column and hot air balloons. South Elgin High School, on the other hand, took a very different approach to their homecoming theme by going dark.. glow in the dark! Neon balloon columns and arches decorated the gym. The balloons lit up beautifully with the powerful backlights rented for the festivities.
