A Look Back: June 2017
Our favorite decor from June 2017
Every month we highlight a few of our favorite and most noteworthy events from the past month. We don’t usually get to do large decor installations, but this month we did several!
City Winery Installation
This large, organic, colorful installation was created for a company party held at City Winery in Chicago. While the event was both indoors and outdoors, the decor we were to install was for a tent covered courtyard area just outside the building. We were asked to create a color block type of organic wall to be hung on the ceiling. Once the color pattern was determined we got to inflating. Balloons of three different sizes were used, each inflated slightly different from one another to create the organic style look. To get an idea of how large the installation actually is, take a look at the photo with Tommy up on the lift. That’s only a small corner!
International Floriculture Expo
This annual event for the floral industry, also known as IFE, allows suppliers to network with high volume buyers and learn from others in the industry while discovering new products and ideas. We had the privilege of working with E&R Sales while decorating their booth for the show. E&R Sales is a balloon supplier who enjoys supplying the gift, floral, hospital, and grocery markets; making this a perfect trade show for them! Our huge organic double rainbow installation was sure to grab the attention of passers by so they can see all the things balloons can do. In addition to the rainbow, there was a large white and silver balloon wall and a few unicorns for good measure.
White Wedding
This large white balloon wall was inspired by Tommy and Scott’s own wedding decor. It was requested to help cover the large roll up door in the event space while doubling as a backdrop for the bridal party tables. The wall consisted of balloons in 4 different sizes, all inflated to varying sizes to create the much desired organic look. There was a surprise hidden inside the large balloons though, they all had lights! The lights are remote controlled and can be programed to a solid color or can flash or fade into multiple colors. The bride requested all white for the majority of the night with a little colorful fun towards the end of the celebration.
Pink Ombre Bat Mitzvah
Steffi’s Bat Mitzvah was a sea of pink glitter and ombre balloons! Her name spelled out in a light up balloon sculpture was just one of the decor highlights. Pink ombre balloon bouquets lined the walls of one of the party rooms. As guests arrived to the celebration, they were greeted with two balloon columns. Once into the event space, custom light up organic balloon curtain ties directed guests to the party. We just love how they turned out! Once past the curtain, guests would see a spectacular sight. Large glitter balloon centerpieces on light up ribbon, three pink ombre balloon arches, and a ceiling full of light up 3′ balloons! The second dining area also had glitter balloon centerpieces, however the balloons were a little smaller to accommodate the space better. Her party was a HUGE success and the kids and parents all had a blast.
